Sierra Vista, AZ 2/27/09 - 3/3/09

When we left St. David RV Park, we went on down about 30 miles to my brother David's house. He has a beautiful home in Sierra Vista right at the base of the mountains that boarder Arizona and Mexico. His address is actually in Herferd, AZ, but that is just the community he lives in. Manwarings came with us and we camped in David and Kari's driveway for four days. Kari was quite ill most of the time we were there, but was feeling better before we left. Terry was able to change the oil and filters in the pick-up while we were there. David has a great shop and all the things Terry needed to do that.

David is so talented at making wood furniture. He promised Kari a new wooden bed frame for her birthday, which was in January. He is getting close to getting it done. This is the amount of work he got done on the headboard, even with us being there and helping Terry with our projects!

Doing this work on the foot board was a little time-consuming because he would have to clamp each part as he glued it for it to dry, and then put on another piece to clamp and let dry. He is sure doing a good job. Kari will be glad to have it done!

Each year for Christmas David's son, Blake, would get a kitten calendar from David, so Blake started giving David a "kitten" calendar for Christmas also--one he could hang in his shop. Well, being as it was close to the first of March, and David would be turning over a page on his "kitten" calendar, I decided to replace his March "kitten" with one of my own! I showed Blake and Kari what I had done and they died laughing! Blake really wanted to be there when his dad turned the page, so we made sure he was. I thought Blake would fall down he was laughing so hard. David didn't laugh as much as I thought he would. Maybe he didn't really appreciate a picture of his sister on his "kitten" calendar, but I thought it might remind him that my birthday just happens to be in March!

We all went out for Pizza dinner the night before we left. Here I am sitting with Blake, Kari, David, Louise, and Russ. Thanks to David and Kari for allowing us to "camp out" in their driveway again this year!
