We left Emmett and went to
Rexburg so Terry could go hunting with Shay. We stayed in Jill and Dan's driveway for a couple of weeks. It was sure good to be close to kids and
grandkids again.

Terry was excited to have a 4-wheeler to drive hunting. My nephew, Cameron, had been going to
BYU Idaho and left his 4-wheeler for Jill and Dan to babysit. It was great. The only gloves that Terry could find before we left Emmett were a pair of pink ones. He was sure they would
attract all of those deer!

Well, I don't know if it was the pink gloves, or Sean joining them. I took Sean up after school on Thursday and Shay got this small buck on Saturday morning. At least one of them got a deer.

Actually, Terry says the luck came from this
OSU sweatshirt that Ryan gave to Terry several years ago that brought them the luck. He forgot to take his bag of clothes with him hunting (thank goodness Shay had brought extra) and I took them to him when I took Sean there. So, once Terry started wearing the lucky sweatshirt, they got a deer! Sounds like a pretty good story to me!

Sarah and her kids came for a weekend while we were in
Rexburg. They came because Jill's son,
Boe, got baptised! We had a good time. Here the girls are giving Grandpa Howie a foot massage! There is nothing he likes better!

I even got a foot massage (I really don't let too many people rub my feet--granddaughters excepted!) Plus, I got a back rub. What could be better!
Boe got baptised and confirmed a member of the Church by his dad. We are so grateful for Dan and he did such a good job! We give each of our grandchildren a set of scriptures on their baptism day.
Boe is a really good reader and is excited to read from his own scriptures. We are sure proud of
Boe!

A couple of days before we left, we went to Shay's and had a soup dinner and carved jack-o-lanterns. Here is Jill and Heidi with
Kamber, Emily, and Sean.

Terry's brother Ron and wife Alice came to join us in
Rexburg for a few days before we were scheduled to take off and go south. They surprised us and came with Jill and Dan to Shay's. They got to join in with six kids all carving pumpkins together, with the help of all the adults. They have four
grandkids, so they are not too used to so much going on, but they handled it well!

Here are the kids showing off the finished jack-o-lanterns. Good job, kids!

It is so fun how Ron and Alice's son, Matt, keeps showing up where we are. He had a trip to
Rexburg during the couple of days Ron and Alice were there with us. We met him and had breakfast with him. We told him that we expect to see him in Arizona sometime, even though he has never had a trip that direction!

Terry's and Ron's dad was born in Chester, ID, which is near
Rexburg. Last year we tried to find where his parents were buried, but were unsuccessful. This time, we went to the Courthouse first and found the cemetery they were buried in, and we were able to get copies of the deeds to the property they owned and homesteaded. We found the cemetery and we drove by the area where their property was. It was really fun to finally find them.
We drove though the little community of Chester and saw the names of streets that their dad had talked about in some of the stories of his youth.
Well, we are off on our adventures, heading to Utah, then Nevada and Arizona. Come join us by reading our BLOG. I will try to keep the postings updated a little sooner. Drop us a comment if you get a chance.
