It is always fun to go to new parks. There are two in
Pahrump, Nevada, about 60 miles west of
Las Vegas, that we hadn't been to. So we headed that way from
Yuba City.

Preferred RV Park was the first one we stayed at, for two weeks. We were lucky to get in for two weeks in a row . It is an ROD park--not an ROD Plus park, so we were only supposed to be able to stay one week. Well, they made an exception--which we heard about several times--and let us stay a back-to-back second week through Coast-to-Coast. But, don't tell anyone because they say they will not do it again!

It was a nice park and we had a good spot, with a view of the mountains out our big window.
There were lots of activities in the park. I got five boxes of
Scentsy product delivered, so we got to know the office people quickly. We went to a
MASA dinner (from which we finally decided to join
MASA), we displayed
Scentsy at a craft fair, and we played card bingo. They have a really nice cactus garden (but I didn't get pictures) and nice craft, game, woodworking, and exercise rooms. They also have a swimming pool that they put a bubble roof over when the weather gets cool.

One day we sat out in the sunshine and finally got our walnuts from
Yuba City all cracked and bagged up. We did save some out for Terry's brother Ron and sister Lolita that we thought we would give them and let them have the enjoyment of cracking themselves. We now have nice sealed packages of walnuts to share with our family.

One of the nicest things about this park is that it is right in the middle of town, along with being on the edge of one side so there is not much traffic. We were able to ride our bikes a lot. We rode them to get groceries, to the bank, to eat cheap buffets at the casinos, and most everywhere else we wanted to go. The big flag in the background of this picture is at
Terribles Casino, right behind the Park.

We drove up to
Grantsville, UT, where Sarah and her family live, and had Thanksgiving with them. We had a great time. Ryan is carving the Thanksgiving turkey, with Jenna watching closely to make sure he does it right!

Sarah inherited Grandma Howard's china (they could have even been her mother's, Grandma
Lukehart,s, but we couldn't remember.) She has meant to use them on special occasions, but always forgot until this year. What fun to see and use them again. Our family had them for many years and used them a lot when all of our kids were still home. Jenna, Luke, and JT set the table.

Jill and her family came late Thanksgiving night and the next day the kids all put on their snow clothes and headed outside. The drain pond for the neighborhood is in Sarah's back yard and it made a great little sledding hill.
Boe is getting ready to go down the hill!

Jenna made it to the bottom without falling off of her sled!
Kamber is all bundled up and ready to climb back up the hill!

Luke ended up with as much snow all over him as there was on the hill!
JT looks like he is having a great time!

While the kids were outside playing in the snow and Ryan making homemade noodles, Jill and Sarah were busy with some "Cricket" projects. Before they were through, there were fun sayings all over the house--the kitchen, the living room, the bathrooms, and the bedrooms! Good job, girls!

Terry was doing his own thing!

The girls and I went to some Black Friday sales and finished up our Christmas shopping, plus a little more. We are modeling our new clothes!

Later, on Friday, we all went to the movies and then decided to go to the Salt Lake Temple and see the lights. They lit them that night. The kids
thought the funnest part was riding the
trolley car from the library to the Temple, which would have been several blocks of walking. Here is Ryan,
Lindee,
JT,
Boe, Luke, and Sarah.

Jill is sitting with
Kamber and Jenna while Dan tries to keep his balance standing up!

Terry and I also had a good time riding the
trolley. Any time we can go someplace and leave the driving to someone else, it is a good time!

We walked around the Temple grounds and listened to the the story of the birth of Jesus and we went inside the Visitor Center and saw all of the sites. While we were walking around, we ran into four of the Smith girls and their families. They all grew up in Emmett with our kids. It was so fun to see them!
JT,
Kamber, Jenna,
Boe, and Luke all posed in front of the fountain next to the Temple.

The Temple was beautiful, especially with all of the Christmas lights and displays around it!

We left
Grantsville a day early because I came down with a bug and wasn't feeling too well, and there was a storm expected that night and the next day. We had pretty good roads going home, unlike the roads we had traveling up to
Grantsville. We could hardly tell the Hippo was red and the windshield washer froze up on us so every time we went by a truck, we couldn't see, and sometimes we would have to pull off the road to clean the windshield. It wasn't too fun, so we were glad we had good roads traveling back to
Pahrump.
