McCormick Park, Hells Canyon July, 2013

Our yearly get together at McCormick Park on the Snake River.  We always try go there the first weekend after the 4th of July, with some of us (retired persons) extending it one way or the other, or both!
We had a little trouble with the air conditioner in our Journey.  Even though we had just had it fixed before we came and replaced the electrical board, we ended up melting the plugin.  We later determined that we could only use one stage of the air conditioner (it has two) when we are plugged into 30 amp.  So, it was a pretty "hot" little Journey when the temp was above 110! Thank goodness there is lots of grass, shade, and cool river water at McCormick.

Terry's brother, Ron & Alice, are becoming regulars to our group, which totally thrills their nieces and nephews!

Bill's whole family, Jeff & Jody (with Cooper), Billy, Charlie, and Merissa made it this year.

Larry & Elaine are sharing a toasted marshmallow, with Royetta in the background.

Wendy, with partner Becky, and little girls Trista (Danielle's daughter), and Mimi (Becky's granddaughter), with Larry in the background.

The pontoon made it another year.  We now have to rely on someone else to put it in the river since we don't have a pickup any longer.  We have seen motorhomes launch boats before, but we have also seen the motorhome end up in the river with the boat.  I don't think so!

Fishing is one of the favorite activities.  When a big trout is caught, chances are, it ends up on the barbeque to share with everyone.  Bill is becoming quit the chef!

Lee and Royetta and their son Paul are enjoying fishing in Bill's boat.  We were so glad they made the trip this year!

I think that our grandkids have learned most of their fishing skills on the Snake River at McCormick.  Boe does a good job!  He is quite the fisherman.

Lorries grandson and granddaughter, Tanner and Trista really have the hang of this fishing, also.

Even Lorrie's granddaughter, Tianna, caught fish, with Aunt Megan's help.

Our grandsons, Chaz and Wesley, chose to go crawdad hunting.

They tasted so good that I am sure this will be a yearly activity from now on.

Camping wouldn't be camping without s'mores.  Here is Jill's hubby Dan, roasting marshmallows with son Boe and cousin Ryley.

A new addition to the evening activities are outside movies--a hit with the young and old alike!  It is also a good way to get the little ones to fall asleep!

Danielle is so good to bring great crafts each year.  Her hubby, Than, is helping her get organized, with Larry looking on.

I am enjoying a little visit with a sweet niece, Danielle's daughter Casiah.

One of Terry's favorite pastimes!

And, one our kid's favorite pastimes.  Jill, Dan, Shay, and Ryan hanging out in the motorhome playing pinochle.

We were so glad the wild blackberries got ripe before our trip was done.  Elaine and I are picking, with Terry holding the boat in place.  It didn't take us long to fill our buckets!

Another great year at McCormick on the Snake River!
