We were going to go to Lake Powell again this year, but decided that time-wise and distance, we would go ahead and bypass it this year.

So, we headed to Utah. This is a terrible picture of the "Welcome to Utah" sign, but we were driving and I couldn't get a very good picture of it. (Terry got in trouble because he wouldn't slow down. He said there was a big truck behind us!)

The mountains in southern Utah are just amazing. For some reason, I am quite
fascinated with all of the rock formations in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. I would have a hard time deciding which I like best.

But, at least in Utah there is water in the rivers--unlike most of the "rivers" in Arizona. It was still pretty muddy and red-looking. Probably like that all the time because of the red dirt.

One reason we didn't go to Lake Powell and went to St. George is because the boys had one of their "father/son bonding weekends." Shay had gotten all of their T-times set at three golf courses so they golfed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Terry wasn't used to golfing even 18 holes, let alone 18 holes three days in a row! But after the first day, he said he felt pretty good. Ryan had surgery on his knee several weeks ago, so he just mostly got to chip and putt. They said they all did REALLY GOOD golfing, but I never did see their score sheets!

It is a wonder the Condo survived the weekend. Thank goodness it didn't look quite like this on Monday when I got home. (Yes, they kicked me out of my happy home, again!)

I went up to
Dugway and spent four days with Sarah and her family. It was tons of fun being with them and the kids. Jenna gave me her bed and she slept on the floor in the boy's room. That meant that some mornings, and sometimes part of the night, I got baby
Lindee in bed with me. One morning the kids even surprised me with breakfast in bed! What more could I ask for!

Sarah and I had a sewing weekend. Her sister-in-law is getting married this summer and Sarah is in the line and Jenna is a flower girl. So, we made two flower girl dresses and Sarah's dress.
Lindee didn't get a new dress. This picture was just so cute I had to BLOG it so you could see her. She is just learning how to walk and is such a good baby.

Well, after the busy weekend with the kids, and me spending a night in the ST
Geroge hospital, we settled back into our routine. The doctors decided I had a TIA (Transient
Ischemic Attack) which is an early warning of a possible stroke. I am now officially a pill popper. I have been trying to avoid that, which is probably why the TIA! Yes, I will be getting my little pill box with the days of the week on it from
WalMart.
St George has some really terrific paved bike trails, so we enjoyed some bike riding again.

At the park, they had a "Going Green Contest." I submitted an idea to have grow boxes and grow some of their own vegetables to
supplement the meals that they fix at the park, and to allow members to do some of the gardening in trade for a
tomato or two. They thought it was a great idea and I won the contest! The prize was a great little solar light mounted on posts with cute frogs on top.

My Mom's cousin Joe and his wife
Ilynn live in St. George. We invited them to dinner, but
because that Sunday was Mother's Day, they had us over to their house instead. They live with their son and his wife (who would be my second cousin, I think.) I hadn't met Dave and Joann, so we had a really good time.
Usually when we go to St. George I get to see my school chum, Ruth and her husband John. I left messages on her phone, but never heard from her. After we left St. George, she called and said they had been down to Mesa for a granddaughter's baptism when John got pneumonia and died. He was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease last December and had been ill since then. I was so sorry to hear such sad news. She will be in our thoughts and prayers.
